Earthy taste and meat-like texture.
Re-hydrate by immersion in hot water for about 10 - 15 minutes. Drain, strain and retain the water to use as a flavour enhancer when cooking.
Can also be re-hydrated in warm milk or wine at room temperature, depending on recipe requirements.
